Caring for the environment
The majority of our products are timber based. This being the case we are strongly in favour of any contribution we can make towards improving sustainability, the well being of forests and the global environment.
We are therefore committed to procuring our timber materials from responsibly sourced and well managed forests.
To prove this commitment we :-
Source our timbers from certified forests.
Use water based preservatives and decoration.
Recycle as much of our waste as possible.
We have recently become a certified supplier of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) wood products. Scope of work that comes under the FSC certified products are "Manufacture and supply bespoke, assembled timber joinery products; including outsourcing of windows, doors, stairs, furniture products and other joinery products ordered by the customers". Batty Joinery support the Wood for Good campaign, promoting the use of timber in the construction industry. The aim of the Wood for Good campaign is to put sustainable wood at the heart of UK Government Policy.
